The Partnership for Academic Competition Excellence has been awarded a grant from the Toutant Intellectual Competition Fund to collaborate with the QANTA Research Project at the University of Maryland for the development of a Tournament Management System.
These grants allow PACE to develop a web-based application that facilitates the moderation,
scorekeeping, and tabulation of statistics for a variety of quiz game formats on a tablet, computer, or other device. Funding will also support the deployment of the application, which will be made available to the public for free, and the code will be open source and available for future community development. PACE has conducted a formal Request for Proposal (RFP) process and selected a lead developer for the project, with expected completion of a working Tournament Management System prototype by August 2021.
